Call for MMA Leadership Candidates

The MMA Governance & Nominating Committee is seeking candidates interested in serving in MMA leadership. MMA leaders are elected in August of each year through a member-wide election held via electronic ballot.  

Upcoming leadership openings are as follows: 

  • Trustee: for a term beginning October 1, 2026 – September 30, 2029. Trustees are eligible to serve three, three-year terms. 

  • Medical student trustee: for a term beginning October 1, 2026 – September 30, 2028. The student must be enrolled in medical school for the entirety of the term, except they may complete their term if they graduate during the second year of a term. 

  • Alternate delegate to the AMA: for a term beginning January 1, 2027 – December 31, 2029. Members of the AMA delegation are eligible to serve a total of 18 years.  

The Governance & Nominating Committee is particularly interested in candidates from non-primary care specialties, candidates from rural communities, and candidates from independent/physician-owned practices. 

Interested individuals are asked to complete this MMA Leadership Interest Form by June 1, 2026.
