Neighborhood HealthSource (NHS) is a federally qualified health center providing care for low income, uninsured, and under-insured individuals. We offer a sliding fee scale for uninsured and do not deny services based on inability to pay. 

The mission of NHS to improve and promote the health of our communities by providing quality health care services that are affordable and accessible. 

Our goal is to improve the health and well-being of high risk and vulnerable populations by providing acute, chronic, and preventive primary care and behavioral health services. 

Our organization serves the neighborhoods of North and Northeast Minneapolis with three clinic locations and a variety of community health programming.

PHYSICIAN SPECIALTIES NEEDED
Family and general internal medicine physicians. 
Other specialty physicians are welcome (dermatology, endocrinology, neurology, etc.).

PREFERRED TIME COMMITMENT
Variable. Four or eight hour shifts, Monday through Friday 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. We also offer partial shifts on two weekday evenings. 

Weekly or monthly positions available. We prefer a commitment of at least two half days a month.

CLINIC LOCATIONS
NHS offers care at four Minneapolis clinic locations:
Central Clinic – 2301 Central Ave. N.E.
Fremont Clinic – 3300 Fremont Ave. N.
Sheridan Clinic – 342 13th Ave. N.E.

REQUIREMENTS FOR VOLUNTEERS
All volunteering physicians must be board certified to practice in Minnesota and be credentialed or contracted with specific payers.

Volunteers are not required to participate in after hours call.

PROFESSIONAL LIABILITY INSURANCE FOR VOLUNTEERS
NHS provides physicians with professional liability coverage.

Hospital coverage is not essential to the position. Our patients are primarily admitted to services associated with North Memorial Medical Center, Unity Hospital or Hennepin County Medical Center.

MEDICAL RECORDS
NHS uses GE Centricity EMR. Training and assistance will be provided. Physicians and other staff enter all patient encounter data, notes and orders.
