Emerging Topics in Healthcare, Health Equity and Well-Being

Join your colleagues for MMA’s monthly Physician Forums – opportunities to stay updated on the latest news, information, and resources on important topics affecting the practice of medicine.  
 
Each forum will begin with a short presentation, with open discussion to follow. In this series, you will hear from experts on a variety of topics and engage with your peers from across the state of Minnesota. 
 
Members have free access to these forums; non-members will be charged a fee of $20. 
 
Once you have completed the registration process, you will receive a receipt email from mma@mnmed.org. The Zoom meeting link will be included in that email.

      • The experience of systemic racism is a source of trauma. This forum will explore how providers can provide trauma-informed care that promotes equity and healing.

  • October 1, 2024 12-1pm
    • Challenging Cases and Updated Guidance for Syphilis, including Congenital Syphilis; In partnership with the Department of Health
    • Register 
      • This forum on challenging cases and updated guidance for syphilis, including congenital syphilis, is co-hosted by the Minnesota Medical Association and the Minnesota Department of Health. Panelists will provide case-based presentations which illustrate the complexities faced during diagnosis and treatment of syphilis and congenital syphilis. Additionally, rising rates of syphilis and congenital syphilis and new Minnesota Department of Health recommendations for syphilis screening among non-pregnant people will also be presented. The forum will end with a question and answer session and panel discussion moderated by the Minnesota Department of Health State Epidemiologist, Dr. Ruth Lynfield.
