Advocacy
Setting Priorities. Taking Action. Making Change.
Advocacy is central to our work to make Minnesota the healthiest state and the best place to practice. Our advocacy efforts are grounded in our strategic plan, which aims to improve patient and population health, improve health equity, increase physician professional satisfaction and well-being, and empower physicians. The MMA deploys its influence broadly – at the Legislature, in the Courts, before state agencies, with health plans, and in communities.
The One Big Beautiful Bill Act (OBBBA) will significantly affect Minnesota physicians and their patients. MMA leadership will consider the OBBBA when they update the MMA advocacy priorities in Fall of 2025. In the meantime, we encourage Minnesota physicians to read the MMA's "One Big Beautiful Bill Act Resource Guide for Physicians." Click here to read the guide.
