Registration Now Open for 2022 Annual Conference on September 23
June 23, 2022
Physicians and physicians-in-training can now register for this year’s MMA Annual Conference, which will take place September 23 from 1 to 6 pm at the Union Depot in downtown St. Paul. The conference will focus on: “The COVID-19 Pandemic: Learning from the past and looking to the future.”
The conference will begin with a general session “COVID-19 Debrief: A State and Federal Perspective” from 1 to 2:15 pm. It will feature: Jan Malcolm, commissioner, Minnesota Department of Health; and José T. Montero, MD, MHCDS, director, Center for State, Tribal, Local, and Territorial Support at the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC).
The general session will be followed by table discussions from 2:15 to 3 pm in which attendees will relay their experiences about the pandemic with their colleagues.
The closing, “The Future of Medicine in a Post-Pandemic World,” will take place from 3:15 to 4:30 pm with keynote speaker Glenda Eoyang, PhD, HSDP, founding executive director of the Humans Systems Dynamics Institute. Eoyang will discuss the topic of change, complexity, and uncertainty – in the context of the COVID-19 pandemic and the chaos and change it has brought to our healthcare system.
Following Eoyang’s talk, there will be a panel of healthcare leaders, representing various health systems and clinics across Minnesota. The panelists will 1) respond to what they hear from the keynote; 2) share how their clinics and health systems have been challenged during COVID-19; 3) share what their resilience and response has looked like during this chaotic time; and 4) share how they are positioning their clinics and health systems to be stronger and more effective moving forward.
The conference will wrap-up with a reception that will introduce the MMA’s new president, Will Nicholson, MD, and provide attendees an opportunity to network with peers.
