More Than a Dozen Healthcare Brands to Exhibit at the MMA Empowering Physicians Conference

Along with the humor of Dr. Glaucomflecken, and sessions on medical innovations and negotiating skills, Empowering Physicians Conference-goers will have an array of vendors with which to interact.  

Along with the event’s premier sponsor, COPIC, more than a dozen other medical related brands will be at the American Swedish Institute in Minneapolis on September 27 talking with conference-goers during breaks.  

Vendors include:

Be SMART: Be SMART is a program developed by the Everytown for Gun Safety Support Fund to educate adults on the importance of secure firearm storage.  Secure firearm storage is an evidence-based practice for reducing firearm injury and death in children and adolescents, including suicides, as well preventing gun theft. Be SMART MN is proud to partner with the MMA in educating physicians on having these life-saving conversations with patients and caregivers.            

Concentra: Concentra, a division of Select Medical, is the nation’s leading provider of workplace health, delivering a range of services including occupational medicine, urgent care, physical therapy, telemedicine, and employer services. Concentra operates nearly 540 community medical centers and 140+ employer onsite centers, providing quality care to employers and patients.    

MEDPAC: MEDPAC is the political arm of the MMA, enabling physicians to directly impact the political atmosphere at the Minnesota State Capitol. MEDPAC works to elect candidates who support the MMA's policy positions and will support the MMA's legislative priorities. Endorsements and contributions are decided by a Board of Trustees made up of physicians and physicians-in-training from around the state, of all specialties, and from across the political spectrum.               

Minnesota Rare Disease Advisory Council: Rare isn’t so rare. The Minnesota Rare Disease Advisory Council advocates for the one in 10 Minnesotans affected by rare diseases. Its mission is to provide advice on research, diagnosis, treatment, and education related to rare diseases. 

Minnesota Alliance on Problem Gambling: MNAPG works to raise public awareness about problem gambling and the stigma that’s often associated with it. They advocate for funding for treatment programs and provide professional training for those who work with problem gamblers. The collective impact of their efforts helps individuals, their families and their communities deal with the devastating effects of problem gambling. 

MMA Foundation: The MMA Foundation relies on physician donations to support its work. The MMA Foundation’s work to support the MMA’s mission and advance optimal health and health equity for all is made possible by the generous donations of physicians and other friends of medicine. 

Phathom: Phathom Pharmaceuticals is a biopharmaceutical company committed to transforming the treatment landscape and improving the lives of patients suffering from acid-related gastrointestinal (GI) disorders. They believe they can change the status quo of treatment for acid-related disorders. 

Physicians for a National Health Program, Minnesota: They are a 501(c)3 organization advocating for universal, comprehensive single-payer healthcare at the state and national levels. They educate physicians and other health professionals about the benefits of a single-payer system. They aim to restore the primary mission of physicians, acting as professional advocates for patients. 

RoundtableRX: RoundtableRx operates the Minnesota Medication Repository Program, a nonprofit organization that receives donations of unused medicine, inspects them for safety, and redistributes them to under-resourced Minnesotans through partnerships with clinics and pharmacies state-wide.

WeCare: Caring for healthcare professionals who care for us. WeCare, a nonprofit organization that provides care to the healthcare workforce. They do this by offering modern CME workshops, retreats and additional opportunities, as well as products and services that support whole person wellbeing.
