Next Tuesday, November 5, is Election Day. Make sure you have a plan to vote, if you haven’t already.
Polls in Minnesota open at 7am and close at 8 pm. Minnesotans will see candidates for president, U.S. Senate, U.S. House of Representatives, Minnesota House of Representatives, and local positions and referendums on their ballot. For further information on elections and voting, visit the Minnesota Secretary of State website.
There is also a special election in State Senate District 45, recently held by Kelly Morrison, MD, who resigned her seat and is running to represent Minnesota’s third district in Congress. The special election will decide control of the Minnesota Senate, which has been tied 33-33 since Morrison’s resignation.
During presidential years most of the attention is put on races at the top of the ticket, but races down-ballot are also critical to issues affecting you and your community. All 134 seats in the Minnesota House of Representatives are up for grabs and those elected will serve in St. Paul for the next two years.
