MEDPAC Endorses 12 Candidates for 2024 Election

All 134 seats of the Minnesota House of Representatives are up for election on November 5.  The board of directors for MEDPAC, the political arm of the MMA, recently voted to endorse 12 incumbent candidates for re-election.  

Endorsed candidates include: 

  • Rep. Jeff Backer (R) for House District 9A 

  • Rep. Kristen Bahner (DFL) for House District 37B 

  • Rep. Dave Baker (R) for House District 16A 

  • Rep. Robert Bierman (DFL) for House District 56A 

  • Rep. Ned Carroll (DFL) for House District 42A 

  • Rep. Steve Elkins (DFL) for House District 50B 

  • Rep. Mike Freiberg (DFL) for House District 43B 

  • Rep. John Huot (DFL) for House District 56B 

  • Rep. Tina Liebling (DFL) for House District 24B 

  • Rep. Matt Norris (DFL) for House District 32B 

  • Rep. Dave Pinto (DFL) for House District 64B 

  • Rep. Liz Reyer (DFL) for House District 52A 

The MEDPAC board is made up of physicians, residents, and medical students from around the state and from across the political spectrum and various types of specialties and practices. AMA Urges Docs to Protect Medicaid by Contacting Congress

The AMA is encouraging physicians to contact their U.S. senators and urge them to revise the reconciliation bill passed recently by the U.S. House of Representatives. While the bill includes language that would stabilize Medicare physician payments, it also threatens to cripple Medicaid and CHIP.
