April 22 Forum to Examine Dietary Guidelines Discussions with Patients

The next MMA virtual physician forum will discuss new dietary guidelines with Donald Hensrud, MD, MS, from the Mayo Clinic, at noon on April 22.
This session, which will be moderated by MMA President Lisa Mattson, MD, will provide physicians with an up‑to‑date understanding of the latest dietary guidelines and the evidence behind them, while focusing on how to translate that science into meaningful, time‑efficient conversations with patients.
Physicians increasingly face questions about food, fads, and conflicting nutrition advice, yet many feel underprepared to address these topics in a way that is both evidence‑based and realistic for patients’ daily lives.

The Minnesota Department of Health (MDH) reported on April 20 that there continues to be a steady decline in youth cannabis use since 2013, with 96% of students reporting not having used cannabis in the last month.
