ZVMS Foundation Seeks Funds for Foot Care Clinic for People Experiencing Homelessness

October 6, 2022

The Zumbro Valley Medical Society (ZVMS) Foundation has launched a fundraising campaign to purchase items for the ZVMS Street Medicine Initiative's upcoming foot care clinic.

On December 3, the Street Medicine Initiative will partner with homeless service agencies to provide a foot care clinic for community members experiencing unstable housing. Foot-related care is necessary in a population spending most of their time on their feet, often in improperly fitted shoes, unwashed socks, and inclement weather.

The December foot care clinic will be held at The Landing in Rochester. Medical students and physicians will provide free foot soaks and specialty care. Socks and shoes will be provided at no cost to visitors of the foot care clinic.

The ZVMS Street Medicine Initiative provides direct care to people experiencing unstable housing through street rounds and community clinics.
