Union Election Notice Released in Allina Health Negotiations

September 7, 2023

The National Labor Relations Board (NLRB) has posted a notice of election for eligible employees of Allina Health System. This election is being held to determine whether the group of 560 full-time, part-time and per diem physicians, nurse practitioners, and physician assistants practicing primary/urgent care will be represented by the national union, Doctor’s SEIU, in negotiations with Allina.

According to the notice, the election will be conducted by mail beginning on September 21 and remain open until October 11. If the vote is successful, it would become the largest private-sector physician union in the country.

The topic of collective bargaining by physicians will be part of a panel discussion at this year’s Empowering Physicians Conference on September 21 at The Marquette Hotel in downtown Minneapolis. Click here for more information.
