Survey Seeks Views from Primary Care Docs on Empathy, Wellbeing

February 10, 2022

The Iowa Medical Society (IMS) is conducting a “Midwest Survey of Empathy and Wellbeing in Primary Care Physicians” through the end of February. MMA members are urged to take part.

The online survey is being offered in partnership with Des Moines University as part of an effort to better understand job-related attitudes and factors, such as work characteristics, personal attributes, and demographics, which may affect overall wellbeing and empathy of primary care physicians.

The 15-minute survey is open to all primary care physicians (both MD and DO): family medicine, general medicine, internal medicine, pediatrics, obstetrics & gynecology, women’s health, and geriatrics.

The hope is that the survey will provide valuable information to help inform both critical research and the efforts undertaken by the IMS to support physicians.
