State Board and Council Seeking Physicians to Fill Vacancies

Several volunteer opportunities for physicians are now available through the Secretary of State’s website. They include:  

African American Health State Advisory Council 

Vacancies: One seat 

Executive Board of Direct Care and Treatment 

Vacancies: One seat -- licensed physician who is a psychiatrist or has experience in serving behavioral health patients 

Vacancies: Three seats -- members with experience: i) in the delivery of behavioral health services or care coordination or in traditional healing practices; ii) as a licensed healthcare professional; iii) within healthcare administration; or iv) with residential services. 

Additional information on vacant seats can be found on the Boards & Commissions page of the Secretary of State’s website. 

Although no additional documentation is required, appointing authorities recommend the submission of cover letters and resumes to better know applicants. The application will now allow you to attach the following documents: 

  • Cover Letter 
  • Resume/CV 
  • Up to 10 additional documents which might support your application 

Applicants are encouraged to use the online application as the Appointing Authority will have access to your information as soon as it is submitted. Under 15.0597, Subdivision 5, applications to a board are valid for one year after submission and can be considered for any board vacancy, prior to its expiration. 

Applications submitted via downloadable application may experience some delay in reaching the Appointing Authority.
