The experience of systemic racism is a source of trauma. This forum will explore how providers can provide trauma-informed care that promotes equity and healing.
The session will feature subject matter experts Marie Nutter, BSN, RN, CNOR and Viann Nguyen-Feng, Pd.D., MPH. It will be moderated by Maria Svetaz, MD, MPH, who authored one of the first-ever racism and health position papers for any national academy.
The forum objectives include:
Understand how racism is a source of trauma that can impact health outcomes.
Recognize how race-related trauma can impact health behaviors and interactions with health care.
