Registration is now open for the 2025-2026 cohort of the MMA’s Minnesota Physician Leadership Institute (MNPLI).
The MNPLI, created by and for physicians, offers an innovative, best-in-class, physician leadership training curriculum to foster professional satisfaction and empower physicians by providing them with the skills, insights, and competencies required to build leadership acumen.

“The MMA has updated the 2025-2026 program with several new and valuable sessions to meet the unique needs of physicians and position them for leadership success,” said Janet Silversmith, MMA CEO.
A new early-bird registration fee of $5,000 is available to those who register by June 30. The price goes up to $5,500 on July 1. Those who register by June 30 will also be eligible for a free subscription (a $655 value) to SafeHaven, the MMA’s confidential and independent resource to help physicians reduce stress and burnout, promote work/life integration, and support wellbeing. A SafeHaven subscription includes access to peer coaching services to complement enrollees’ leadership journey.

The new cohort begins September 16.
The Minnesota Medical Association is accredited by the Accreditation Council for Continuing Medical Education (ACCME) to provide continuing medical education for physicians.

As the Legislature works to complete its work on the state’s two-year budget, another deadline is looming. Legislators are required to pass a balanced budget before the end of the fiscal year—June 30, 2025. If they don’t meet that deadline, the state will begin a partial shutdown.

The AMA is encouraging physicians to contact their U.S. senators and urge them to revise the reconciliation bill passed recently by the U.S. House of Representatives. While the bill includes language that would stabilize Medicare physician payments, it also threatens to cripple Medicaid and CHIP.
