Registration Open for February 3 Virtual Forum on Housing as Health Care

January 15, 2026

The Minnesota Health Equity Community of Practice (CoP) will host a virtual conversation about the public health impact of homelessness and housing insecurity in Minnesota on February 3, from noon to 1 pm.

Stable, safe housing is a foundational determinant of health. Drawing on statewide data and frontline experience, this session will examine the health impacts of homelessness and housing insecurity in Minnesota through a public health and health equity lens.

The session will be presented by Naheed Murad, MD, a hematopathologist and co-founder of Zakat Aid and Charity Assisting Humanity (ZACAH) and Rahma Heart Care. Her work focuses on the intersection of housing, health equity, and access to care, with a particular emphasis on supporting BIPOC, refugee, and uninsured communities across Minnesota.

This virtual meeting is open to all physicians, health professionals, and leaders from Minnesota health systems, medical groups, and medical associations with an interest in health equity. To register, click here.

The CoP is a peer network dedicated to advancing health equity and addressing the significant racial and ethnic health disparities that persist throughout Minnesota. Health equity leaders and professionals come together quarterly to exchange expertise, network, and discuss issues and priorities. If you are interested in joining or learning more, please contact Haley Brickner, the MMA’s health equity coordinator.
