Legislative Session Starts; MMA to Focus on 5 Major Issues

State lawmakers returned to St. Paul on February 17 for the second half of the 2025-2026 biennium.

The MMA Board of Trustees recently voted to create a new section to convene LGBTQ+ physicians, physicians-in-training and physicians specializing in LGBTQ+ health issues for networking/support, education and advocacy.
One goal of this section is to expand the scope of MMA’s current health equity initiatives to include issues facing members of the LGBTQ+ community, who are, for example, less likely to have a regular healthcare provider and less likely to have health insurance.
