New Website Provides Useful Info on Cannabis Use

The Minnesota Department of Health (MDH) has launched a new webpage that includes educational resources on cannabis.  

The webpage is intended to address the immediate communication needs of the public regarding cannabis use. As new tools and materials are developed, MDH will add them to the webpage. 

Currently, available documents include resources for individuals who are pregnant, plan to become pregnant, or are breastfeeding or chestfeeding. Fact sheets are available in Spanish, Somali and Hmong.

MMA Signs on to AMA Letter Opposing Federal Legislation Expanding Pharmacist's Scope of Practice

The MMA has signed on to an AMA letter opposing HR 3164, the “Ensuring Community Access to Pharmacist Services (ECAPS) Act,” in particular because it would allow “pharmacists to perform services that would normally only be authorized and covered if they were furnished by a physician.”

Nearly 140,000 Minnesotans will lose their healthcare coverage as a result of President Trump’s budget reconciliation bill, according to a preliminary analysis by the Minnesota Department of Human Services (DHS).
