MMA President and MMA Foundation CEO to be Featured Panelists at Symposium in Rochester

The MMA, in partnership with the Wisconsin Medical Society, will lead a panel discussion titled "The Role of Medical and Professional Societies in Supporting Clinicians and Community Health" at the Transforming Community and Rural Healthcare 2025: Bold Innovation and Partnerships symposium, to be held on October 27-28, at the Mayo Civic Center in Rochester.  

MMA President Lisa Mattson, MD, along with MMA Foundation CEO Kristen Gloege will represent the MMA on the panel, highlighting strategies that strengthen rural physician workforce, foster well-being, and promote healthier communities. 

Hosted by the Mayo Clinic, this symposium brings together healthcare leaders, administrators, executives, physicians, advanced practice providers, nurses, community health partners, university and other academic faculty, nonprofit and government employees, residents, fellows, and medical students.  

Learning objectives include: 

  • Recognizing transformative approaches to address key healthcare challenges facing rural America.  

  • Identifying collaborative strategies and partnerships to sustain workforce and improve health outcomes in rural communities.  

  • Assessing innovative approaches to enhance rural health equity, cancer care, and behavioral health.
