MMA Foundation Invites Applications for Its Scholarship Programs

April 4, 2024

Physicians-in-training currently have three scholarship programs available through the MMA Foundation.

The MMA Foundation is accepting applications for its Friedman-Bowen Primary Care Scholarship Fund through May 2. The Foundation awards these grants each year to spark interest in primary care as a career and to support student-initiated and student-designed projects geared toward improving the knowledge or practice of primary care or raising awareness of health issues. Eligible students include those who are studying at a Minnesota medical school and intend to pursue primary care. The Foundation expects to award approximately $10,000 in Friedman-Bowen grants in 2024. Click here for more information and to download the RFP and application materials.

The Foundation’s Indihar Advocacy Scholarship Fund grants are available throughout the year. They are intended to empower Minnesota medical students to be part of the next generation of advocacy leaders by supporting their work to drive meaningful policy and structural changes that promote equity and justice. The Foundation expects to award $3,000 in Indihar grants in 2024. Click here for more information.

The Foundation also offers MCAT® Fee Relief Fund grants to help pay the MCAT® fees for undergraduates from racial and ethnic populations underrepresented in the medical profession relative to their numbers in the general population.
