Minnesota Attorney General Keith Ellison recently distributed more than 5,000 warning letters to retailers and distributors, asking them to stop distributing, marketing, and selling unauthorized and illegal flavored commercial tobacco products in Minnesota.
The letter references the FDA's pre-market authorization process and the new 2024 Minnesota state law which took effect August 1, 2024, which makes it unlawful to advertise, sell, or distribute e-cigarettes that imitate school supplies, characters, games, or products that imitate candy, desserts, or beverages.
The MMA has long supported more restrictions on tobacco-related products.
