MDH Releases Health Advisory on Monkeypox

The Minnesota Department of Health (MDH) has released a health advisory regarding monkeypox, an orthopoxvirus, the same genus as smallpox, variola and vaccinia viruses.  

Healthcare providers should consider monkeypox in people with unexplained rash and who have traveled in the last 30 days to a country with a confirmed or suspected case of monkeypox, have had contact with a person with a confirmed or suspected monkeypox, and is a man who reports close or intimate contact with other men.
