May 22 Virtual Forum to Address Private Equity in Healthcare

May 9, 2024

The MMA will host its next online physician forum on private equity in healthcare on Wednesday, May 22 from 6 to 7:30 pm.

Market activity, regulation, and public discourse related to private equity investment in healthcare continues to increase, both nationally and in Minnesota. These trends warrant physician consideration not only of the effects of these investments on healthcare cost, quality, and access; but also, an understanding of arguments for and against greater regulation.

This forum serves to educate and engage physicians in a thoughtful discussion on the growing role of private equity in healthcare.

Speakers will include:

  • Brent D. Fulton, Ph.D., MBA, associate research professor of health economics and policy, UC Berkeley

  • Jill S. Melicher, MD, managing partner, Minnesota Eye Consultants

  • Susan Truman, MD, president and CEO, Midwest Radiology, PA

  • Jon Woodruff, JD, assistant attorney general - antitrust division, Office of the Minnesota Attorney General

MMA President Laurel Ries, MD, will serve as moderator.
