March 6 Webinar to Discuss Best Practices for Communicating About Health Equity

February 13, 2025

The MMA will host a 60-minute webinar on “Best Practices for Communicating about Health Equity” on March 6 at 5 pm.

“The words we use can either promote a culture of respect and inclusion, or perpetuate harm toward marginalized individuals and communities,” said MMA President Edwin Bogonko, MD, MBA. “As we work to promote an anti-racist culture in medicine, we must also examine the way we speak about equity. As language and culture change over time, it is our responsibility to stay up to date on best practices for communicating about health equity.”

The webinar will enable participants to use more inclusive communication by providing suggested language, guidance, and explanatory context, and encouraging them to think critically about the words they use, the meaning conveyed, and the potential impact.

The webinar is being held in conjunction with the release of the MMA’s Inclusive Communication Guide.

The webinar is free for all, but registration is required. Click here to register.
