Free Perinatal Education ECHO Series Now Available

The MMA will host a physician forum on Wednesday, July 20, at noon on the advances in colorectal and prostate cancer screening. It is being held in partnership with the University of Minnesota Medical School.
Colorectal and prostate cancers remain a significant cause of patient morbidity and mortality. This forum will provide an update on screening and surveillance of these common cancers. The session will include a question-and-answer panel discussion.
Upon completion of this program the attendee will be able to:
Describe the optimal approach to colorectal cancer screening.
Describe the optimal approach to prostate cancer screening.
Apply current best practices in colorectal and prostate cancer screening to patient care.
Panelists will include:
Shanaz Sultan, MD, MHSC, AGAF, professor of medicine in the Division of Gastroenterology, Hepatology, and Nutrition; program director, Gastroenterology Fellowship Training Program; and core investigator for the Center for Chronic Disease Outcomes Research at the University of Minnesota Medical School.
Philip Dahm, MD, MHSC, professor of urology at the University of Minnesota; urology residency program director and vice-chair of education, director of specialty care/surgery research, Minneapolis VAMC; coordinating editor, Cochrane Urology; and executive committee member, US GRADE Network.
The moderator for the forum will be Mark Rosenberg, MD, Professor of Medicine and Vice Dean for Education and Academic Affairs for the University of Minnesota Medical School

The MMA signed onto a letter to Congress’ Committee on Appropriations on May 18 urging leaders to include funding in the 2027 budget for gun violence prevention research.
