IBS, OCD Added to State’s Medical Cannabis Program

July 13, 2023

The Minnesota Department of Health (MDH) has added irritable bowel syndrome (IBS) and obsessive-compulsive disorder (OCD) to the list of qualifying medical conditions for participation in Minnesota’s medical cannabis program.

Minnesota patients certified with either of these ailments can now enroll in the state’s program and can start buying medical cannabis at a dispensary on August 1.

The two new conditions were approved last year during MDH’s annual petition and public comment process

With the two newest additions, the medical cannabis program now has 19 qualifying medical conditions. For more information on qualifying conditions visit the Office of Medical Cannabis website.
