April 21, 2022

The MMA will host another noon-time physician forum on April 27 on the topic of “Cultivating Mindfulness and Resilience: Everyday Tips and Approaches.”

The forum will be led by Mariann Johnson, a wellbeing and mindfulness Instructor for the University of Minnesota’s Earl E. Bakken Center for Spirituality & Healing. Bryan Williams, MD, pulmonology, critical care medicine, and chief wellbeing officer at MHealth Fairview, will serve as the event’s moderator.

The objectives for the forum include:

  • Evaluate what mindfulness is and isn’t, and the research supporting the practice of mindfulness as tool to reduce stress and enhance resilience.

  • Discover how to apply “in-the-moment” practical mindfulness tips and approaches throughout one’s daily activities.

  • Practice and experience a short mindfulness meditation.
