Applications Open for MEDPAC Board of Trustees

August 17, 2023

The MMA’s political action committee (MEDPAC) is looking for physicians interested in advocacy and political engagement to serve on its Board of Trustees, with new terms beginning in September.

MEDPAC's goal is to help elect candidates who share the MMA’s advocacy interests and will support the MMA’s legislative priorities at the Capitol.

Members of the MEDPAC board endorse and allocate contributions to candidates for state office. The board is made up of physicians, residents, and medical students from around the state and from across the political spectrum.

MEDPAC endorsements and contributions are based on a candidates’ position on issues identified by the MMA as critical to physicians and patients. Applicants are expected to be aware of the MMA’s legislative advocacy efforts, current events impacting physicians and patients, and can knowledgably review and consider applications for candidate endorsement. If accepted, members are expected to actively participate in two to three virtual meetings annually and must be MEDPAC contributors. They are expected to assist in fundraising for MEDPAC.

If interested, please fill out an application form, and send it to Chad Fahning  by August 31.

MEDPAC is a bipartisan organization endorsed by the Minnesota Medical Association. Funds from corporations or incorporated practices cannot be accepted for MEDPAC’s political contribution fund; corporate checks will be accepted for non-election related activities. Voluntary political contributions are subject to prohibitions and limitations of FEC regulations (federal regulations require this notice). Contributions to MEDPAC are not deductible as charitable contributions for federal or state income tax purposes.
