24 Minnesota Groups, Including the MMA, Sign on to Pro-Vaccine Statement
August 20, 2026
The MMA, along with 23 other healthcare organizations, has signed onto the Minnesota Public Health Association Policy & Advocacy Committee's Statement from Minnesota Health Leaders on Vaccination.
With the statement, the groups "affirm that routine immunization according to the schedules published by the American Academy of Pediatrics (AAP), American Academy of Family Physicians (AAFP), and American College of Obstetricians and Gynecologists (ACOG) continues to represent the standard of care in Minnesota."
The statement goes on to say: "Vaccination recommendations are most effective when they are grounded in rigorous, transparent review of scientific evidence; informed by disease epidemiology in the United States; and implemented in a way that promotes equitable access, clarity for clinicians, and confidence for all. The AAP, AAFP, and ACOG immunization schedules reflect these principles and are widely relied upon by providers and health systems throughout Minnesota."
The statement comes in reaction to the Trump Administration's August 10 executive order that would change childhood vaccination recommendations and call into question long-established vaccine practices. Read more about it here.
