Legislative Session Starts; MMA to Focus on 5 Major Issues

State lawmakers returned to St. Paul on February 17 for the second half of the 2025-2026 biennium.

The state of Minnesota is currently looking for physicians to serve on two boards/task forces. They include:
Two physician seats on the Child Fatality and Near Fatality Review and one physician for the Mentally Ill and Dangerous Civil Commitment Reform Task Force. The physician for the latter position should be a licensed independent practitioner with experience treating individuals subject to a mentally ill and dangerous civil commitment.

Although no additional documentation is required, appointing authorities recommend the submission of cover letters and resumes to better know applicants. The application will now allow you to attach the following documents:

Under 15.0597, Subdivision 5, applications to a board are valid for one year after submission and can be considered for any board vacancy, prior to its expiration.
