Annual MMA Leadership Election, and Bylaws Notice and Comment Period Opens August 1

MMA members are encouraged to cast their vote for MMA’s future leaders as part of the annual MMA leadership election taking place August 1-31.
The MMA has once again partnered with Survey & Ballot Systems (SBS) to administer the 2025 election. Look for your ballot from “MMA Election Coordinator, noreply@directvote.net” on August 1.
President-elect and Board of Trustee members will take office October 1. AMA delegates and alternate delegates begin their terms on January 1, 2026.
The ballot will include background information on each of the following nominees:
President-elect (members will elect one)
Resident/Fellow Trustee (members will elect one)
Trustee (members will elect six)
AMA Delegate (members will elect two)
AMA Alternate Delegate (members will elect two)
This year’s ballot also includes proposed changes to MMA Bylaws, which require a 30-day member notice and comment period prior to Board of Trustees action. The proposed changes can be reviewed here and include the following:

Proposed changes to the name and scope of the Nominating & Leadership Development Committee. This proposal would merge the functions of the current Governance Committee (not defined in bylaws) and the current Nominating & Leadership Development Committee into a single committee to be called the Governance and Nominating Committee. The committee membership specifications are removed from the bylaws to allow the Board flexibility to modify the membership in the future, if desired.
