MDH Seeks Comments Relating to Communicable Disease Reporting

January 19, 2023

The Minnesota Department of Health (MDH) is considering modifications to the Communicable Disease Reporting Rules through the Minnesota rulemaking process. This process will update the rules to address new and emerging communicable diseases, remove unnecessary provisions, clarify reporting conditions, and address other technical changes.

MDH published the “Request for Comments” (RFC) on January 17 and will be accepting comments until March 20 at 4:30pm. MDH encourages physicians to review the RFC and submit comments. MDH will publish the specific modifications to the rules later this year.

For a copy of the RFC and the rulemaking process, visit the MDH’s website at Amendment to Rules Governing Communicable Disease Reporting.
