Vacancies Available on MMA’s Policy-Creating Bodies

The MMA is seeking physician and physician-in-training volunteers to fill seats on several of its policy committees. The following groups are looking for applicants:

The MMA Policy Council includes 40 physicians and physicians-in-training who discuss in detail an annually adopted list of pressing issues in medicine and health. For more on the Policy Council, click here
The MMA Equity in Access & Quality Committee is a newly formed group of 18 physicians and physicians-in-training who drive MMA’s health equity efforts pertaining to healthcare access and quality. The mission and charge of the Equity in Access & Quality Committee can be read here.  
The MMA Public Health Committee is a group of 18 physicians and physicians-in-training which leads MMA’s health equity efforts pertaining to the intersection of clinical medicine and the social determinants of health. The mission and charge of the Public Health Committee can be read here.  
The MMA Ethics & Medical Legal Affairs is a group of 18 physicians and physicians-in-training who specialize in the legal, ethical, and moral aspects of medicine. The mission and charge of the Ethics & Medical Legal Affairs Committee can be read here.  

These committees meet approximately four times per year for two-hour meetings on weeknights. Committee members serve three-year terms and have the option of continuing for one additional term (for a maximum of six years).
