U of M Med Student Wins National Competition

Stephen Palmquist, a medical and MBA student at the University of Minnesota, was recently part of a team of Carlson School students to win the annual Business School Alliance for Health Management (BAHM) Case Competition, which took place in late March at the University of Miami.

The winning proposal will be presented April 25 at 4 p.m. at Hanson Hall, Room 1-108, 1925 S. 4th Street, on the U of M Twin Cities campus.

Palmquist, the co-chair of the MMA-MSS Executive Committee, interviewed law enforcement members, public health workers, government officials, politicians, and various professional associations to find a solution to the opioid epidemic.

His team's winning paper will be submitted to the Surgeon General and the White House as well as being printed in the BAHM journal.
