Physicians Needed for Pre-Med Shadowing Opportunities

Physician shadowing opportunities are needed for a Minnesota program that cater to minority and underrepresented pre-med students.

The Minority Association of Pre-Medical Students (MAPS), Twin Cities chapter at the University of Minnesota Medical School, is a pipeline program sponsored by the Student National Medical Association (SNMA) to directly serve minority students through mentorship, education and guidance.

MAPS has a Physician Mentorship Program dedicated to supporting pre-med students from underrepresented backgrounds as they explore and prepare for a career in medicine. An important part of their journey is witnessing firsthand the experience of working as a physician. However, many pre-med students have difficulty accessing shadowing opportunities.

If you or your medical practice are able to host a pre-med student, please fill out this form. Contact Jenny Zhang, MD with questions.
