The MMA’s next Physician Forum will look at recommendations for care of children in school and childcare settings during the COVID-19 pandemic on Oct. 20 from noon to 1 p.m.
The Minnesota Department of Health (MDH) will soon be releasing updated COVID-19 guidance on caring for kids in school and childcare settings. This forum will provide a summary of the updated guidance and will give physicians an opportunity to ask questions they may be hearing from patients who have kids in school and childcare settings.
The forum will be led by Denise Herrmann DNP, RN, CPNP, Education and Childcare Team / COVID-19 Response at MDH.
Objectives for the forum include:
• Identify updates to the “Decision Tree for People with COVID-19 Symptoms in Youth, Student, and Child Care Programs.”
• Identify the challenges related to recognizing COVID-19 and the recommendations for testing.
• Review the current recommendations for isolation and quarantine for close contacts.
This forum will be free for everyone, regardless of MMA membership status.
