On June 29, the MMA will launch The Pulse (thepulse.mnmed.org), a new and innovative online policy development and polling tool that is designed to capture the ideas and opinions – the pulse – of MMA members.
“The Pulse will offer MMA members a great opportunity to have their voice heard on important issues affecting the practice of medicine and the health of Minnesotans,” said Keith Stelter, MD, MMA president. “It will also provide transparency into MMA decision-making.”
The Pulse, available only to MMA members, can be used to submit policy proposals for MMA consideration, to vote on policy proposals prior to MMA Board action and to provide feedback on decisions made by the MMA Board.
Members can use The Pulse on their computer, tablet, or smartphone, at any time.
“To create good policy, the MMA needs to hear from as many physicians and physicians-in-training as possible, to get all sides of an issue,” Stelter said. “The Pulse will help us do that.”
The Pulse is modeled after a similar tool created by the Colorado Medical Society.
