The MMA is partnering with the American Cancer Society and several other health care organizations to sponsor the Minnesota Rally for Research on Aug. 5 from 1 to 2:30 pm at the Minnesota State Capitol in St. Paul.
This rally is a non-partisan way to make clear that Congress should reject any cuts to cancer research funding and support more funding for this lifesaving work. Rally attendees will:
- Hear from cancer survivors who are alive today due to past investments from cancer research
- Meet cancer researchers leading the way to the next potential major breakthrough
- Broadcast to the world with an exclusive Facebook Live activity.
Support is needed in the wake of the White House’s proposed cuts to the National Institutes of Health (NIH), which would be a significant setback for Minnesota and the country.
