Physicians are urged to attend one of six town hall forums on gun violence prevention scheduled across the state during the month of April.
The forums are being organized by Protect Minnesota Advocacy Fund and the Minnesota chapter of Moms Demand Action for Gun Sense. The events will include a panel discussion and Q&A on bills currently before the Legislature, as well as a discussion of how to best advocate for passage of these important bills.
The MMA hosted a workshop on preventing gun violence in January. MMA policy closely supports the aims of the two firearm violence bills that are under consideration at the Capitol, including expanded background checks for firearm purchases and a “red flag” law that allows law enforcement to temporarily seize firearms from individuals who may be a threat to themselves or others.
