Physician Forums: COVID-19

Join your colleagues for MMA’s new bi-weekly Physician Forums – opportunities over the lunch hour to stay updated on the latest news, information, and resources surrounding the COVID-19 pandemic. Each forum will begin with a 10-15 minute presentation with open discussion to follow. In this series, you will hear from experts on a variety of topics and engage in discussions ranging from how to effectively implement telehealth in your practice, to why racial and ethnic data on COVID-19's impact is needed.

    • Learning Objectives:
      • Explore relevant literature about resilience and burnout in physicians.
      • Examine concepts of moral injury/moral distress in physicians.
      • Hold the paradox of required health system change and individual action to promote physician wellness.
    • Speaker: 
      • Timothy J. Usset, MDiv, MPH is a Board Certified Chaplain and Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist in the state of Minnesota. Throughout his career, he has worked extensively with moral injury/distress, spiritual distress, and posttraumatic stress disorder on numerous research projects and clinical areas. Currently, Timothy is the Executive Director for the Physicians Wellness Collaborative (a program of Physicians Serving Physicians), a non-profit organization supporting physician wellness and mental health, and PhD student at the University of Minnesota’s School of Public Health.
