Southside Community Health Services
Southside Community Health Services (SCHS) is a Federally Qualified Health Center that exists to improve the health of our patients and communities by delivering exceptional care, removing barriers, and promoting healthy lifestyles. We provide high quality, affordable, accessible and comprehensive healthcare in the South Minneapolis community. Our medical services are available to people of all ages, income levels, and backgrounds. Services are provided by experienced doctors, nurse practitioners, registered nurses and a care team of Patient Advocates, Referral Specialists, Health Care Home Coordinators with a full team of behavioral health specialists nitrated into our team-based model. SCHS accepts private insurance, General and Medical Assistance, Minnesota Care, and payments on a sliding fee schedule based on income for those who qualify. Our sliding fee discount is available based on federal poverty guidelines of family size and income.
Physician specialties needed: We are in need of Family Practice MD volunteers to see patients at our Minneapolis location and serve as resources to our Nurse Practitioner team. We are also in need of specialty MD volunteers to see patients at our Minneapolis location and serve as resources to our providers.
Professional liability insurance: SCHS is able to cover volunteer physicians with malpractice coverage through the Volunteer Healthcare Provider Program.
Time commitment: Volunteers would be asked to work a minimum of 4-8 hours per month.

All volunteering physicians must be credentialed and board certified to practice in Minnesota. Physician's license to practice must be current and unrestricted.
Medical Records: SCHS uses OCHIN, a version of Epic. Training will be provided. Physicians will enter all patient notes but assistance can be provided.
