Al-Shifa Clinic is a free clinic that opened more than 20 years ago with the mission to provide free healthcare to an underserved population. The nonprofit clinic is a program of the Islamic Center of Minnesota (ICM).
Services provided at the Al-Shifa Clinic include health histories, physical exams, annual check-ups, well child visits, patient education, as well as diagnosis and treatment of various medical conditions and acute injury.
Referrals for specialist care, labs, and imaging are made to Hennepin Healthcare.
Eligibility: El-Shifa Clinic provides health care services to everyone, regardless of age, race, faith, gender, ethnicity, or one's economic or insurance status.
Physician specialties needed: The clinic is looking for volunteer primary care physicians, physician assistants and nurse practitioners.
Preferred Time Commitment: Ideally, we would like a physician to agree to volunteer two hours per month.

Requirements for Volunteers:
- Current MD license to practice in the State of Minnesota
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills

The clinic does not offer professional liability coverage at this time.
