The MMA, the Lake Superior Medical Society (LSMS) and medical students at the University of Minnesota Medical School, Duluth campus hosted a lunch-and-learn on mental illness with Sue Abderholden, executive director of the National Alliance on Mental Illness (NAMI) of Minnesota, and Ruth Leathers of the NAMI Duluth Chapter.

More than 50 students participated in the Nov. 26 group discussion: “Things Every Doctor Should Know About Mental Illness.”
On Dec. 9, the UMD students will host a lunch-and-learn on graduate medical education and residency program funding. The presentation, which will be held at noon in Room 142 MED, will feature Troy Taubenheim of the Minnesota Council on Graduate Medical Education. This lunch-and-learn will also be co-sponsored by the MMA and the LSMS.
