Medical students from Minnesota’s three medical schools gathered in Minneapolis on Oct. 26 to elect the 2014 leaders for the MMA Medical Student Section (MMA-MSS).
• Sagar Chawla
, a second-year medical student at the Mayo Medical School, re-elected as chair
• Mariaha Cobb
, a third-year University of Minnesota Twin Cities Medical School student, re-elected as vice chair
• Katherine Holten
, a second-year medical student from the University of Minnesota Twin Cities, elected to serve as the group’s 2014 delegate. This position represents the MMA-MSS at the MMA Annual Meeting, and serves as the primary spokesperson for the MMA-MSS on the floor of the AMA House of Delegates and all AMA-MSS meetings
• Courtney Moors
, a second-year medical student from the University of Minnesota Duluth Medical School, as secretary
• Thomas Baron
, a second-year medical student from the University of Minnesota Duluth, as member-at-large.
• Eric McDaniel
, a second-year medical student from University of Minnesota Duluth, elected to serve a second term as the MSS appointee to the MMA Board of Trustees.
The MSS executive committee will soon appoint the group’s representatives to the six MMA policy committees.
