Exercise Your Rights by Voting
Date: 25-10-2012 [MMA News Now, Oct. 25, 2012] On Nov. 6, Minnesotans will go to the polls to decide on a variety of state and federal races as well as amendment issues. The MMA strongly encourages all of its members to vote.
“We hope that all of our members take the time to get out and vote,” said Dave Renner, MMA’s director of state and federal legislation. “Regardless of party affiliation or where you stand on issues, it’s important that we all exercise our rights to ensure we have a representative government.
“Several key issues could affect physicians in the coming months,” Renner said. “How health care reform will be implemented, the potential 27 percent cut in Medicare payments through the Sustainable Growth Rate formula and the looming state budget deficit that will impact the state’s health care programs. Now, more than ever, Minnesota physicians have a stake in who has a hand in deciding these issues.”
