IOM President to Speak in Minneapolis

[MMA News Now, Oct. 11, 2012] Harvey Fineberg, M.D., Ph.D. and president of the Institute of Medicine, will discuss the country’s need to invest in preventive care and other topics on Oct. 29 from 1:30 to 3:30 p.m. in the Pillsbury Auditorium of the Minneapolis Institute of Arts. The event is free but reservations are required.

Following his presentation, Fineberg will join a panel discussion featuring: Penny Wheeler, M.D., chief clinical officer from Allina Health; Marc Manley, M.D., MPH and vice president and chief prevention officer at Blue Cross and Blue Shield of Minnesota; and Maha Tahiri, Ph.D., senior technology director at General Mills Bell Institute of Health and Nutrition. The panel will be moderated by Sanne Magnan, M.D., Ph.D. president and CEO of the Institute for Clinical Systems Improvement (ICSI). 

The event is sponsored by the George Family Foundation, Allina Health’s Penny George Institute for Health and Healing, ICSI and the Twin Cities Medical Society.
