Date: 06-09-2012
[MMA News Now, Sept. 6, 2010] Two Minnesotans were recently named to Modern Healthcare’s “100 Most Influential People in Healthcare,” a list that also includes President Barack Obama, Republican presidential nominee Gov. Mitt Romney, and Republican vice presidential nominee Rep. Paul Ryan.

Minnesotans making the list include MMA member John Noseworthy, M.D., president and CEO of Mayo Clinic, who ranked 17th, and Stephen Hemsley, president and CEO of UnitedHealth Group, who ranked seventh.

AMA Executive Vice President and CEO James Madara, M.D., ranked 85th.
U.S. Supreme Court Chief Justice John Roberts topped the annual list. It was Roberts’ controversial vote and majority opinion that upheld the constitutionality of the Affordable Care Act in June.
