| The Minnesota Department of Health filed two motions for Emergency Protective Order this week in response to two class action suits brought against it since the Minnesota Supreme Court issued its opinion on Bearder v. State (more commonly known as the Newborn Screening Case) last November. The Department of Health is requesting protection from allegations by the plaintiffs in the suits of spoliation of evidence while the suits are pending. | |

| The MMA is advocating for state officials to correct long-standing delays in filling vacant MD positions on the Minnesota Board of Medical Practice (BMP), the states physician licensing board. The MMA is taking action to ensure that Minnesota physicians have full representation at BMP committee and board meetings. | |

| MMA has signed onto a letter asking congressional leaders to stop stalling and stabilize Medicare by permanently repealing the sustainable growth rate (SGR) formula using dollars already budgeted, but no longer needed. The MMA is one of 108 medical groups from across the country to sign the letter, which was drafted by the American Medical Association. Your help is still needed. | |
