Children’s offers cross-cultural lunch and learns
MINNEAPOLIS, June 25, 2009 - Children’s Hospitals and Clinics of Minnesota is offering lunch and learn sessions on cross cultural communication and conflict resolution skills.
Children’s is inviting pediatric and medical colleagues from the community to attend the free sessions.

July - Dynamics of Cross-Cultural Communication
Facilitator: David B. Hunt, J.D.
The participants will experience a culture clash simulation, learn about common stumbling blocks in cross-cultural communication, and discuss ways of forming productive cross-cultural relationships with patients and co-workers.

August - Resolving Cross-Cultural Conflict
Each participant will complete and self-score The Intercultural Conflict Style (ICS) Inventory to identify his/her own fundamental approach for resolving conflict. Skills for resolving culture-based conflicts will be discussed and practiced.
