The MMA's March 4th Medical Marijuana Policy Forum will feature two psychiatrists, an addiction medicine physician, a pediatrician in palliative care and a specialist in internal medicine and homeopathy.
Moderated by MMA Board Chair Dave Thorson, M.D., the forum will feature guest speaker J. Michael Bostwick, M.D., professor of psychiatry at the Mayo Clinic College of Medicine, and senior associate dean for admissions, Mayo Medical School. His presentation is called “Blurred Boundaries: The Therapeutics and Politics of Medical Marijuana.”
The forum will also include a discussion of the pros and cons with panelists:
• Jacob Mirman, M.D., a partner in Life Medical, PA, an integrative primary care clinic in St. Louis Park, MN. He is a specialist in internal medicine and homeopathy, as well as other integrative medicine modalities.
• Charles Reznikoff, M.D., an addiction medicine and internal medicine doctor, who works in the division of addiction medicine and is an assistant professor of medicine at the University of Minnesota.
• Sheila Specker, M.D., associate professor of psychiatry at the University of Minnesota and member of the Minnesota Psychiatric Society.
• Scott Schwantes, M.D., pediatric section chair /pain and palliative care at Gillette Children's Specialty Healthcare.
